Awards Overview

The BITS Awards celebrate individuals and organisations that have made exceptional contributions to Botswana's ICT landscape.

Each year, BITS recognises the best and brightest in Botswana's technology sector at the prestigious BITS Awards Gala Dinner. The awards span multiple categories covering technical excellence, leadership, innovation and community impact.

Nominations are open to all BITS members and the broader ICT community. Winners are selected by an independent judging panel comprising senior ICT professionals.

Awarded to an individual who has demonstrated exceptional professional standards and made significant contributions to the ICT sector in Botswana.

Recognises an individual or team that has developed or implemented a groundbreaking ICT solution that has had measurable positive impact.

ICT Young Professional

Celebrates an emerging ICT professional (under 35) who has shown outstanding promise and achievement early in their career.

Recognises a woman who has made exceptional contributions to the advancement of technology and gender inclusion in Botswana's ICT sector.

Awarded to an organisation that has demonstrated leadership in ICT adoption, investment and innovation to drive business and societal value.

Recognises an individual or organisation that has used ICT to create meaningful social or economic impact in Botswana's communities.

Nomination Process

Nominations Open — BITS announces the awards cycle and opens nominations to the public and members.
Submit a Nomination — Complete the nomination form with full details of the nominee and their achievements.
Shortlisting — The Awards Committee reviews all nominations and produces a shortlist of finalists per category.
Judging — An independent judging panel evaluates finalists against criteria including impact, innovation and professional standards.
Gala Dinner — Winners are announced at the annual BITS Awards Gala Dinner.
